Disney characters may be loved around the world, but not all countries get the same Disney merchandise. This adorable and fun vending machine is a Japan-exclusive product made by Takara Tomy. It features 18 Disney and Pixar characters from movies such as Toy Story, Cars, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Dumbo, Monsters, Inc. and Finding Dory. Of course, Mickey, Minnie, Winnie the Pooh, and Tigger are also represented.
The toy is both entertaining and educational, and it can be played in either Japanese or English. The items to be sold come in different shapes, so kids first load the machine by matching up the “products” to the correctly shaped holes. Next they insert one of the included plastic coins and push the lever for the item they would like vended. A light comes on and a sound is played as the item is dispensed. There is also a “quiz mode” for older children. Items are labeled in both Japanese and English, and include juices, milk, cocoa, snacks, and even corn soup, which is commonly sold in a hot can in vending machines across Japan.
The toy was developed together with a professor from Tokyo University and is recommended for ages 2 to 5.
