Here’s a collaboration to excite fans of both Japanese art and anime. Doraemon, the insanely popular “robot cat from the future” has been reimagined by famed artist Takashi Murakami in a series of t-shirts and a plush toy for Uniqlo’s UT brand.
Murakami combined Doraemon and other characters from the manga and anime series with his iconic daisy print for an explosion of color. There are t-shirts for adults and children with prints of Doraemon’s outline, the “Dokodemo door,” the Doraemon logo, and Doraemon flying with his “takecopter.” The collection includes all-over prints, front prints, pocket prints, and one-point embroidery styles.
Also a part of the collaboration is a plush Doraemon toy, with the lovable character covered in Murakami’s custom daisy print. The 24-cm-tall toy is soft and huggable, making it the perfect gift for children and a fun conversation piece for adults.
