Takahiro Miyashita made waves when he was chosen as one of the designers to show during Amazon’s At Tokyo program during Tokyo fashion week, and he followed that up with the even more impressive feat of showing alongside Jun Takahashi of Undercover as a featured designer at Pitti Uomo in Florence. Now, he is making even more of a name for himself by releasing for sale the sneakers he designed for Converse, which first appeared on his Tokyo runway.

Miyashita put his own spin on Converse’s classic Jack Purcell style by remaking it in all-over black. But it’s not as simple as it looks, with the brand’s logo printed in black on the tongue and a tonal message across the rubber toecaps that reads, “We will always love you, Kurt,” a reference to Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain.

The kicks dropped on May 25 and are only sold in Japan and in limited quantities, so don’t miss your chance to get your hands on a piece of The Soloist’s uber-cool runway.
