Kewpie dolls have been popular in the United States and Europe since the early 1900s, but today they are also known as the face of Kewpie mayonnaise in Japan, where the iconic character is a staple in every household.

Now, Beams Japan has commissioned Obitsu Plastic Manufacturing, which makes the modern Kewpie dolls in Japan, to produce a special transparent version.

It still has its trademark smile, blue eyes, long lashes and button nose, but its body is made from clear plastic. At its back is a tiny pair of wings (it is a Cupid, after all) and the red Mt. Fuji logo of Beams Japan.

The figurine is available in two different sizes and is a must-have for any collector of Kewpie dolls, rare toys or Japanese figures.
