Uniqlo has launched a new project called Master of Graphics, and for its first capsule collection it has tapped Japanese design titans Jun Takahashi (founder and designer of Undercover), Tetsu Nishiyama (director of brands such as WTAPS and Descendant), and Nigo (founder of BAPE and current creative director of UT). As if it weren’t enough to land such heavyweights in the fashion industry, the collection features their unique takes on beloved Star Wars characters.
Each designer created four different t-shirt prints, demonstrating each’s own unique aesthetic. Takahashi put a fantastical spin on Ewoks, droids and a Storm Trooper, Nigo designed retro-cool versions of the Star Wars logos and put Yoda in a backpack, and Nishiyama emphasized the futuristic, space-age look of the series. All of the t-shirts are available in men’s sizes, and six styles are also available for kids.
The collection will hit stores in Japan on Monday, April 29. They are bound to fly off the shelves, so get your pre-order in before it’s too late!
