Zozotown, one of Japan’s largest online shopping platforms for clothing and accessories, has launched a campaign to support the local brands that sell their designs both on its website and in brick and mortar shops across the country. To raise funds to help these brands survive the covid-19 crisis, Zozotown is taking preorders for a series of t-shirts in exclusive collaborative designs, which will be available to ship in August.

There are five designs available, each representing a different Japanese city: Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Sapporo. The front of each t-shirt is printed with photos taken by the various brands in each of these cities, before the pandemic began. The back of the shirts will carry a list of the brands that have given permission to participate in the initiative.

Travel to Japan may be suspended from most countries at the moment, but you can still support your favorite brands from anywhere in the world, while using the photographic images to transport yourself to your favorite Japanese cities.
